Meghan, it’s not “necessary” but it’s absolutely wonderful! My opinion – the best part is the Excellence Club beach & pool. It’s a private section and there is so much more room than the regular part of the resort. There is a beach and pool concierge. My husband & I have stayed there (and at ERC) five times each and always stay in the Excellence Club. I’d be happy to answer any specific questions if you’d like. Just message me!
