My husband and I are traveling to Mexico for the first time ever. We will be staying at the Excellence Playa Mujeres in the middle of February. We are hoping to get some advice from people who have been there on what excursion, and activities we should do. How we should get to and from the airport, Safest transportation? if travelers cheques are recommended or just exchange currency there ? and if there are any ”must see” places we should an for. We are there 5 nights. This is my first time leaving our daughter and first time out of the country so I am a little nervous about it, any advice and tips would be great!!! updated 4 months ago
Dont stop in airport go right outside to your transportation. The people in lobby are timeshare sales people. Just relax at resort bike tour is nice. We have been there 3 times and it keeps getting better every visit.. We have always used Olympus tours for transfer from airport and back.
What Dusty said !!! And If it’s in your budget, make arrangements for private transportation rather than the bus. Olympus had a nice SUV when we were there. Nothing like being pointed to the end of the line, saying ”private transportation” and being walked to your very own cool, comfy ride. And it seats up to 10 so you can share the cost. If you booked through a travel agent, have them check.
