My husband and I stayed at Excellence Punta Cana last week for our honeymoon. While we were originally put in a room with two double beds (not good for your honeymoon) we were switched the very next day to a beautiful suite with all of the honeymoon amenities. The staff there was wonderful. They were always so bright and cheerful and spoke every time they saw you. I can't comment enough on the cleanliness. They were always cleaning something. It absolutely amazed me to see the staff in their uniforms (not bathing suits) cleaning the pool EVERY DAY. The grounds were immaculate and beautifully maintained. The restuarants were very good. Spice was our favorite. The fruit was wonderful and fresh. It was neat to try a little bit of everything and if you didn't like it, you didn't feel guilty about not eating it or sending it back. I have to say Francisco at the Martini Bar was my favorite employee there. He knew us by name, the drink we liked, and knew I would come get a banana every morning to feed the turtles. He always made conversation with us and fed our eagerness to learn about the Dominican Republic culture. The Entertainment was great. There was a great circus show that was just amazing. There was something always going on so that you never were bored. We will definitely be back.
